Gala Dinner Invitations in Bordeaux: The Bus Is Scene One

Before you pick the menu, fix the departure time, the meeting point and the return — and put all three where your guests will actually look.

It is 18:20 on Place des Quinconces and the group chat has fourteen new messages. Two people are waiting at the wrong end of the square. One is standing by a fountain that does not exist. The coach has been idling for ten minutes, and the first glass of white is already being poured in Saint-Émilion.

None of that is a catering problem. It is an invitation problem. Before you decide between lamb and turbot, fix two times and one address, then put them where everyone will actually look. At a gala dinner in Bordeaux, the bus is the first scene of the night — and it happens before anybody sits down.

Your departure time belongs on the cover or in the very first scene, set in the same typeface as the date. Not in a message sent on Tuesday that half the guest list scrolls past. If the coach leaves at 18:30 and comes back at 01:00, those two numbers should be impossible to miss. A vague meeting point does the same damage as no meeting point at all.

  • Departure and return times, set in the same type as the date.
  • A meeting point with street, number and the name of the place: Cours de l'Intendance, outside number 12.
  • The stop order if there is more than one pick-up: 18:30 city centre, 19:10 Saint-Émilion, 19:40 the estate.
  • A link or QR code your guests can open on a phone without downloading anything.

Gravel writes the dress code

A vineyard at night is not a ballroom. Even when the invitation says gala, add a line about the air: coat or wrap recommended. At 23:00 the temperature drops, and people are standing outside between courses, holding a glass in one hand and their jacket in the other.

Thin heels and gravel do not get along, and the floor of a barrel cellar is stone, not parquet. Comfortable shoes or a block heel for gravel is one sentence that saves someone from walking back to the coach barefoot at one in the morning. Sort the dress code before your guests open the wardrobe.

The invitation watches the clock and counts the replies, so you can be a guest at your own dinner.

Your RSVP form is not the bus list

Set the questions the confirmation form is built for: will you come, how many of you, and the name of each person. Keep transport in a fixed scene that everyone reads, with the time and the stop spelled out. Replies arrive in an ordered list inside the invitation, so you are not chasing yeses by WhatsApp while the coach waits. One link holds the plan, the dress code and the answers, and you can try the cover for free before you pay anything. A digital invitation costs 29.99 EUR as a one-time payment, no subscription, and scenes such as Cena larga or Último baile carry the menu and the last dance. Publish it once the route is clear.
