Digital Invitation Etiquette for a Vienna Gala Dinner
Digital invitation for a Vienna gala dinner: how to get titles, precedence and dress code right, and edit the link without reprinting a thing

Two weeks before a gala dinner in Vienna, the host has the menu agreed, the pianist booked and the seating plan half drawn. Then someone asks the question nobody has answered: does the invitation say Excellency, or the full name? You can settle that tonight, from your laptop. Choose a design from the collection, build a digital invitation and send the link the same day.
Vienna reads small details as signals. How you address a guest on the invitation is how the room will treat them at the table. So the wording has to be right before the link goes out, not after the first phone call about it.
Vienna gala dinner etiquette starts before anyone sits down
Precedence is written down, not improvised. The host sits facing the door, the guest of honour to the host's right, and the names on the invitation follow that same order. Titles get the same care, and the dress code is stated exactly, because 'smart' means six different outfits to six guests.
- Precedence first: host or guest of honour at the top of the list, exactly as agreed, never alphabetical.
- Titles spelled out: Excellency, Doctor, or first name and surname, written the way you will address them at the table.
- Dress code in quotation marks: 'White tie', 'Black tie' or 'Formal'. Nothing vaguer than that.
- Two times, not one: 19:30 for the aperitif, 20:15 when the room closes.
- The map inside the invitation matters more than a street name typed by hand.
What a digital invitation gets right, field by field
In the editor you fill one field per fact: label, names, date, phrase and venue. Every field has a character counter, so the guest of honour's title does not get cut between the draft and the live link. If the venue moves the time from 20:00 to 20:30, or the dress code goes from 'Black tie' to 'White tie', you edit it and the link stays the same. Nobody reprints anything, nobody sends a second envelope.
You can add up to six of your own photos, a cover and decorative ones, and each one frames itself; if the final room turns out to be a different one, swap the photo and leave the rest alone. Confirmations arrive inside the same invitation, in an ordered list, with the questions you chose to ask. Viennese guests read German and English, so the content can be set per language, and nobody has to install an app: the link opens in the browser. Send it with a short line and one link, the same one for WhatsApp, email or a printed QR code.

The invitation is the first place setting. Get the title wrong and the whole table notices it.
How much does a digital invitation cost for a gala dinner?
It costs €29.99 per invitation, a one-off payment with no subscription. You can try the design free by editing the cover, and buying unlocks every scene. Digital invitations do not print, and that is the honest limit: if somebody wants to frame it, send the link to everyone and print a few copies for the people who will keep them. Before you publish, read your three lines again — label, title, dress code. Three lines decide whether your gala dinner sounds like protocol or like improvisation.
