Digital invitation: A gala dinner at a restaurant is decided on the invitation: full menu, both sittings, counted seats. What your digital invitation has to say so nobody asks twice

You ring the restaurant on a Tuesday to confirm forty seats, and the maître d' asks which sitting you want. That's where the questions begin. Which sitting, what's on the menu, whether there's something for the cousin who doesn't eat meat, what time the second group sits down. A digital invitation answers all of it in one link, and you can put it together and send it today from the catalogue.

These are the things worth writing down once, so you stop typing them out in private messages.

Write the whole set menu out, plate by plate

If the kitchen serves one menu, list it dish by dish. 'Starter: tuna tartare. Main: sirloin or sea bass. Dessert: cheesecake.' The doubt dies before anyone asks. Two lines cost you nothing; forty private replies cost you an evening.

  • The full menu, dish by dish, with both mains named and the vegetarian dish called what it is: mushroom risotto, not 'vegetarian option'.
  • The time of each sitting, the seat count and the deadline in the same block: 8:30 pm first sitting, 10:30 pm second. Forty seats, confirmed by 12 May.
  • The address with a map link, plus one line on parking or the nearest station.
  • The dress code in two or three words, placed next to the date instead of at the bottom.

Two sittings and forty seats belong in the first line

The seat limit comes from the restaurant, not from you, so write it where it can be read: forty seats, confirmed by 12 May. A written limit is understood. A limit people assume ends in an awkward phone call. Same with what the dinner includes: menu, drinks, the toast. Say it and nobody asks what they are paying for at ten at night.

Dress code is one line, not a paragraph. 'Black tie' is enough. If the drinks are in the garden, add 'coat for outside' and you skip the eleven o'clock message. Put it next to the date and the address so it gets read in the same glance as the map.

If the invitation names the menu, the sitting and the deadline, there is nothing left to ask.

Digital invitations fix the plan without a resend

The restaurant moves the second sitting to 10:45, or the vegetarian dish changes. You edit the invitation and the link stays the same, so whoever opens it sees the current version. No reprint, no second envelope. Confirmations arrive inside the invitation in an ordered list, and the RSVP questions are yours to set, so there is nothing to chase through WhatsApp. Guests install nothing: they open the link in a phone browser and reply from there.

How to create a digital invitation for a gala dinner

Pick a design from the collection and test it free: in test mode you edit the cover without paying, and buying unlocks every scene. In Joy Studio you get one field per piece of information — label, names, date, line, place — with a character counter and a live preview. You can add up to six of your own photos, mark the cover and swap it later. Publish with one button and share the link or a QR code. If someone in the family wants paper, combine: the link for everyone, a handful of printed copies for whoever will keep them.
