Digital invitation for a gala dinner head table
Set the head table label, the cocktail hour and the dress code in a digital invitation, then change any of it without resending a single link

Three days before the gala, the banqueting manager asks who is sitting at the head table. You have a list on your phone and a printed place card that reads “Guest of honour”, because at the time nobody gave you the exact title. That is the gap a digital invitation closes before it opens: you set the head table label, the cocktail hour and the dress code once, and you can create and send it today from the catalogue.
A gala dinner lives on details nobody applauds: who gets announced, when the doors open, what people wear to sit down. The invitation is where those details get read first. Get them right there and the evening starts calm.
The digital invitation places the head table before the catering
The order around a head table is rarely decided on the day. It is implied in the label each guest reads: “Head table · Managing Director”. In Joy Studio every piece of information has its own field — label, names, date, sentence and venue — and a character counter, so a long label either fits whole or you cut it before publishing. If a job title changes, or someone confirms later, you edit the scene and the link stays the same. Nobody gets a second message.
- Exact label on the table: “Head table · [name and role]”, no initials or abbreviations.
- Dress code on one line: “Black tie” or “Formal”, never two options at the same time.
- Cocktail hour and dinner hour on separate lines, with location and map in the same scene.
- One clear line of protocol: when to take your seat and who opens the toast.
The head table label is not something you improvise
A real label reads “Head table · Mrs García and guest”. No initials, no abbreviations a guest has to decode while standing in the room. And “presiding table” and “top table” do not mean the same thing in every country: if the gala brings together guests who read different languages, the content of the invitation can be configured per language.
The dress code goes on the same scene as the time: “Black tie” or “Formal”, one option only. Leave two and half the room turns up in the wrong thing.

A gala dinner starts long before the caterers: it starts in how the invitation is read.
How to set the cocktail hour and dress code in digital invitations
Drinks at 8:00 and dinner at 9:00 are two different hours and deserve two different lines. Mix them and half the room misses the first toast. If the kitchen runs late, you change the time in the scene and guests see the updated version on the same link. Location and map live inside the invitation too, so nobody arrives asking on WhatsApp where the main entrance is.
The tone of the gala is decided on the cover
Up to 6 photos of your own: a cover with the emblem or the empty hall, plus decorative shots of the table. They frame themselves and you can swap them later. Mark which one is the cover and the link does not change. Music and the welcome line set the register: a restrained piece for a black-tie dinner is not the same as one for a summer party.
Your head table starts well before the caterers: it starts in how the invitation is read. Choose a design, try it free and publish your digital invitation once the protocol is in place. It costs 29.99 EUR per invitation, one payment, no subscription — and if someone wants paper, the sensible move is to combine: a link for everyone, a few printed copies for whoever will keep them.
