You swiped, you messaged, you met. Here's how to build an anniversary invitation that opens with your first hello and still lets you change the time two days before.

Somewhere in your phone there's a thread that starts with a 'hey'. You know the date. You know what time it was, because you checked it later, more than once. That thread is where your relationship actually began, and it's the reason wedding anniversary invitations for couples who met online need more than two names and the address of a restaurant.

Build the invitation around that first message. Not as a joke about dating apps, but as the first thing on the timeline, the way other couples point at a bar and say that's where it started. A digital anniversary invitation holds all of it without printing a thing.

The first message gets a toast too

Note the date of the first match and the app it happened on. If you messaged for three weeks before you met for coffee, that's a scene of its own: the time you arrived, what you ordered, who left first. Distance counts as well. Two cities on a map, a return train ticket and a call that ran two hours.

  • A screenshot of the conversation with your first hello in it, used as a decorative photo.
  • The exact time of the first match, typed into the date field or written into the scene text.
  • The restaurant address and the time in separate fields, so you can move either one later.
  • The song that was playing the night you first met up in person.

The cover has to carry the date

The cover is where the details sit: label, names, date, one line. Each one has its own field, so nothing slides out of place when you change it. There's a character counter as well, because a line that looks fine on a laptop can break across three rows on a guest's phone, opened standing in the street.

You can upload up to 6 of your own photos and the editor frames them for you, and the cover photo can be swapped later without touching the rest. Behind the cover, the invitation runs as chained scenes: one for the first message, one for the reunion, one for this year's toast. Each scene takes its own text and photos, so the dinner scene can hold the picture of that two-hour table. Music belongs to the scene too, so pick the song from the night you first met up.

Your first message was four words long. The invitation can be just as short and still hold the whole story.

Confirmations arrive inside the invitation itself, in one ordered list, so you're not rebuilding a group chat full of crossed emojis. You set the questions in the RSVP form yourself and leave out the rest. Guests install nothing: they open the link in the browser on their phone and reply from there. They do need a phone, tablet or computer with a connection.

A wedding anniversary invitation you can edit after you send it

If the restaurant moves dinner to eight, you edit it and the link stays the same. No reprinting, no new envelopes, no second message telling everyone to ignore the last one. The content can be set per language, so a guest who reads French more easily gets it in French. Try the cover for free, and publish when it looks right.
