University Graduation in Madrid: From Cap to Table
Picking the room is half of a university graduation in Madrid. The other half is getting the time, the address and the dress code to thirty people without chasing replies.

It's 20:40 on a Friday in June. The ceremony at Cantoblanco ran twenty minutes over, the car park exit hasn't moved, and your phone holds eleven versions of the same question: where are we eating? Thirty people are waiting on an answer you already sent twice.
Choosing the restaurant for a university graduation in Madrid is half of it. The other half is getting the time and the address to everyone in one go, without retyping them in three group chats the moment the room changes.
University graduation in Madrid: the date comes first
Ceremonies cluster in June and July, with a few held in September after the resits. Ask your faculty for the exact day and start time before you book anything. A private room for 30 in graduation season goes weeks in advance, and if the act lands on a Friday, check the Thursday as well — that's the night everyone else books.
- A room of your own and a fixed time written on the booking, not 'around nine'.
- Ninety minutes between the end of the ceremony and the table: the exits at Ciudad Universitaria and Cantoblanco have their own rhythm.
- The confirmation list closed before you pick the menu and count the tables.
- The seating plan drawn on paper the week of the act, with class groups mixed.
Where to hold it: five Madrid areas that work
Next to campus is the easy win: a restaurant ten minutes from Somosaguas, Getafe or Cantoblanco saves the grandparents and anyone who drove in from another city. If the group is heading out afterwards, book in La Latina or Malasaña, sit down at 21:30 and move to a bar. With small children, a 13:00 vermouth on a terrace in Chamberí or Salamanca works better than a long dinner. Over 40 guests, look for a place with its own space and a price per person agreed in writing — and ask whether that room has a door that closes, because with thirty people that matters more than the view.
The hour changes the day. Vermouth at 13:00 if families are coming, lunch at 14:30 if someone is driving back to Valencia or Zaragoza, dinner at 21:30 if the night continues. Put the time, the address and the dress code in the invitation and let each guest confirm from their own phone. If you want a terrace in June, call on Monday for the weekend.

Fix the room, send one link, and stop being the person who forwards every change of time or address.
One link that survives a change of time or venue
Restaurants move things: the room gets swapped, the time slides half an hour, a dress code appears. Edit the invitation and the link stays the same, so nobody reprints an envelope or gets a second message. Paste the link or the QR into the class WhatsApp group — it opens in the phone's browser, no app to install. You can add up to six photos, keep the cap in the courtyard as the cover and swap it for the group on the stairs later. The invitation costs 29,99 EUR per event as a one-off payment, so the rest of the budget goes on the menu. Try the design free in Joy Studio, publish it once your faculty gives you the date, and answer 'where are we eating?' a single time.
