Twin Birthday Invitations: Get Both Names Right

If one twin's name leads the invite, the other is already outside the party. Here are the twin birthday invitation mistakes that repeat most, and how a digital invite fixes them.

If one twin's name leads the invite, the other is already outside the party. Here are the twin birthday invitation mistakes that repeat most, and how a digital invite fixes them.

Lucia and Mateo turn seven on Saturday. The invitation lands in the family WhatsApp group and the first line says "Lucia's birthday." Mateo reads it, scrolls to the photo, and sees himself in the corner. He is in the picture, but not in the title. That is how a twin birthday invitation starts badly: not with a missing address, but with a missing name.

A single name is not a small editing mistake. It sets the order of the party. One child is the subject; the other is a guest at his own birthday. The fix is simple: put both names on the invitation, in the same order, from the cover to the RSVP form.

Twin Birthday Invitations: Two Names or It Is Not Their Party

Start with the label. Write "Lucia and Mateo's birthday" or "Birthday of Lucia and Mateo" instead of "Lucia's birthday." Then use two separate name fields in the editor, so each name has its own space. A single line that reads "Lucia and Mateo" can wrap on a phone and push one name to the next screen. Two fields keep both names visible on the cover, in the event details and in the confirmation form.

  • Use the same order everywhere: cover, event details and RSVP questions. If home says "Mateo and Lucia," the invitation says the same.
  • Put the time, place and map in one visible block. If the time moves from 4pm to 5.30pm, edit the digital invitation and the same link shows the new details.
  • Add one clear photo of each twin, plus one of them together. You can upload up to 6 photos, choose which one opens the invitation and replace any photo later.
  • Set the invitation text in the language the whole family reads: Spanish, English, Catalan, French, Italian, Portuguese or German. Useful when grandparents or cousins live abroad.

An RSVP Form That Knows There Are Two of Them

If the form only asks for "guest name" in the singular, the family does not know whether to write both children, the adult bringing them, or just one twin. The answer arrives by WhatsApp and you have to guess. Configure the RSVP questions so the reply is useful: how many people are coming and which names are attending.

With a digital invitation, confirmations arrive inside the invitation in one ordered list. You open the link and see who is coming without scrolling through six messages from the same family. The questions are yours to set, so the list reads the way you need it.

Two names on the invitation, two names in the RSVP, one link that stays correct.

Send The Joy

Move the party from 4pm to 5.30pm, change the address or swap the map, and the invitation shows the new version. No reprinting, no resending envelopes. Send The Joy invitations are digital: they do not print or post paper. If you want a few printed copies for the grandparents, combine both: one link for everyone and a handful of prints for the drawer. Before you send, read the invitation as the other twin. If your name is not there, the party starts wrong. A digital invitation costs 29.99 EUR as a one-time payment, and you can try it free before buying: edit the cover, see the preview and publish when it feels right.
