Thanksgiving invitations: turkey, time and RSVP

A Thanksgiving invitation template with a turkey, a real arrival time and RSVP in one link. What to write in each scene, and why the link beats paper.

Every year it's the same with Thanksgiving invitations. You send one message to eleven people — 'Thanksgiving at ours, midday-ish' — and your brother-in-law turns up at 11:40 with a warm pumpkin pie while your cousin walks in at 3:15, just as the turkey comes out of the oven. Nobody did anything wrong. 'Midday-ish' means four different things to four different families.

That's not a design problem, it's an information problem. A Thanksgiving invitation with a turkey on the cover, one exact arrival time and RSVP inside the same link does the work for you — no counting yeses in a group chat, no second message when the time shifts.

Thanksgiving invitations: the arrival time beats the design

Your template has one field for the date and another for the time, and that separation is the point. Write 'arrival at 2:00 pm' even if the turkey is served at 3:30. Midday is a guess; 2:00 pm is an instruction. If each family brings a dish, the dinner scene is where 'you're on the pumpkin pie' belongs — written once, so you never repeat it in the group chat.

  • Full date and arrival time, kept apart from the time you sit down to eat.
  • The address with something you can actually see: 'the house with the oak tree, second gate on the right'.
  • Who brings what, written on the dinner scene and not in a separate message.
  • The dress code in one line, so nobody has to choose between a jumper and a shirt.

The turkey goes on the cover, not in a banner

Filter the collection by style and try a design for free. In test mode you edit the cover without paying, so you can see last year's table photo in the frame before you commit; buying unlocks every scene of the invitation.

Add up to six of your own photos, cover and decorative, and they frame themselves. You pick which one is the cover and swap any of them later. Text sits in separate fields — label, names, date, phrase and place — each with a character counter, so 'Thanksgiving at Grandma's house' fits the layout instead of breaking it. Music goes in from the same editor.

A Thanksgiving invitation earns its keep when the time is exact, the turkey is on the cover and the yes arrives in the same link.

If the turkey needs another hour and dinner slides from 3:00 to 4:00, you edit the time and the link stays the one you already sent. Nobody re-sends anything. House change? Update the place and the map, and whoever opened your message on Tuesday sees the new version without another notification. There's nothing to reprint and no second round of envelopes — a QR code at the door opens the same live page.

RSVP lives inside the invitation

Confirmations arrive in the same invitation, in one tidy list, so you're not chasing answers on WhatsApp the night before. You set the form questions to match your dinner: 'are you here for the pre-dinner nibbles?' or 'staying for cards after the plates are cleared?'. Guests install nothing. They open the link in the phone browser and answer in two taps.

It's digital, so nothing gets printed or posted. If someone wants something to keep, the sensible mix is the link for everyone and a handful of printed copies for the people who'll put one in a drawer. Guests need a phone, tablet or computer with a connection; that printed copy covers whoever turns up without a smartphone. Publish your Thanksgiving invitation with the turkey, the exact time and the RSVP in one link, and stop counting yeses by hand. If plans shift that week, you fix it in a minute and everyone sees the good version.
