It's 9:40 on a Tuesday night and you're planning a last-minute baby shower for Saturday. You still haven't invited anyone, unless you count the group chat with 34 unread messages: a voice note about parking, two memes, someone asking whether there'll be cake. Nobody has actually said if they're coming.

There's no time to print anything, and chasing people one by one will eat the rest of the week. What you need is one message that goes out once and tells you who's in. That's what a link does, and it's where the other options fall apart.

Last-minute baby shower invitations: three ways to tell people

There are three realistic ways to invite a group this late. Only one of them survives a change of plan.

  • WhatsApp. Free, two seconds, done. But the message sinks under voice notes and memes, and you end up messaging everyone separately to ask who's actually coming.
  • A printed card handed round. Fine for the four people who live nearby, but the second the time moves you're reprinting, or texting corrections to something already stuck on a fridge.
  • A loose PDF or image. Every change means sending it again, and someone always keeps the old version saved in their camera roll.
  • A link to an event page. You share it once, guests open it in their phone browser without installing anything, and the replies collect in one list inside the invitation.

The minimum you need to publish one today

Four fields and the cover is standing: a short label, the names, the date and a sentence. Each one has a character counter so you can see when you're over, and the preview updates as you type without reloading the page. Keep the label plain, something like 'Marta's baby shower', and the sentence to two lines.

Have five things ready before you start: the label, the start time plus the real time you'll cut the cake, the exact address or a map pin, one RSVP question people can answer in two taps ('how many of you are coming?'), and a landscape photo for the cover. You can add up to six of your own pictures, the scan, the nursery, the cake, and they frame themselves. Mark which one is the cover, swap any photo later, add background music and set your own RSVP questions. That's the invitation finished.

Change the time and nobody has to re-send anything

The shower moves to Sunday because a flight lands late. You edit the invitation and the link stays the same. New time, new address, different dress code, another sentence at the top: guests see the updated version every time they open it. Nothing to reprint, no second round of messages, no voice note explaining what changed.

One link tells everyone once and keeps count, so you can stop asking and get on with the cupcakes.

Send The Joy

If someone in the family wants something to hold, the sensible mix is a link for everyone and a handful of printed copies for the people who'll keep them. Start with a design and try it free: in test mode you can edit the cover without paying, so you decide by looking at the invitation instead of imagining it. Publish today and the link takes over, telling your people and collecting the replies while your phone sits in your hand waiting for the call. If the baby decides to come early, everyone is already invited and already counted.
