It's the second week of June. Your cousin has a flight comparison page open on her phone, finds a return to Seville at a price she likes, and books it. Your July wedding invitation arrives on the Thursday. Nobody did anything wrong — she planned her summer before you told her the date.

That's the tension with a July date: the invitation and the holiday booking are competing for the same week in someone's head. Send the link in May and the competition is over before it starts.

July wedding invitations go out before the flights do

The people who book early are usually the ones who live furthest away: the friends who moved, the relatives who fly in. They need three things from the first screen they see — the date, the town, the time — before any paragraph about how you met. If they read in another language, the invitation text can be set in theirs.

  • Date, place and time sit in their own fields near the top, not buried at the end of a long sentence.
  • Send the link in May if anyone has to fly. June is late for the good fares.
  • WhatsApp for the group chat, email for the relatives who never open the group chat. Same link in both.
  • Nothing to install: guests open the link in the browser they already have and reply from there.

In July you pick the time twice: ceremony and shade

A noon ceremony and a half-past-seven ceremony are two different weddings. In July the light decides: what people wear, when dinner starts, whether the photos happen before or after the speeches. Write the time on the invitation instead of leaving guests to work it out from the scene.

If the drinks are outdoors, say so. The invitation runs as a chain of scenes — ceremony, long dinner, last dance — and each one carries its own text and photos. Read together, they tell a guest the shape of the day in ten seconds: where to be, when, and what happens next.

In July, the invitation has to arrive before the flight search ends.

Confirmations land inside the invitation, in one ordered list. You open it and see who's coming, without rebuilding a group chat that has sixty messages in it. The form questions are yours to set, so what you ask is exactly what you read later. Guests answer from the phone in their hand, between the beach and a nap.

Lime, terracotta and olive hold up at nine in the evening

A courtyard photo taken at nine at night doesn't look like a studio photo taken in March. Lime, terracotta and olive green carry that warm, dusty light; the navy of a winter wedding doesn't. You can upload up to six photos of your own — a cover and decorative ones — and they frame themselves, and you can swap the cover later without touching the link. If someone wants an invitation to keep, the sensible combination is the link for everyone and a few printed copies for the few who'll save them. Printing and envelopes are a separate decision: the invitation is digital and doesn't print or post anything.

If your wedding is in July, the invitation has to be ready before your guests book their holidays. Choose a design, try it free with your own cover photo, and publish the link once the details are settled. If the time moves in August, the link stays the same.
