Intimate Wedding Invitations: 5 Mistakes to Avoid
Six mistakes that turn an intimate wedding into a to-do list, and how to keep the guest list, the dress code and the RSVP on one link.

Eighteen chairs in a stone courtyard, candles down the middle of a long table, and your mother asking if your cousin can come. Just for dinner. You say yes, and now it is twenty-two, and the table you booked does not exist.
Intimate wedding invitations rarely fall apart over one big decision. They fall apart on the small polite yeses, and on details left outside the invitation so a guest has to ask by text. These are the ones that cost couples the most time.
Intimate wedding invitations start with the guest list
Write the names down before you open the editor. A table for eighteen behaves nothing like a table for twenty-four: the venue moves, the menu moves, the budget moves with them. Decide the circle first, then design something that fits it.
- Sending a generic PDF to sixty contacts when twenty people are coming. The invitation promises a party you are not hosting.
- Adding someone just in case because a relative asked. Eighteen becomes twenty-four, and the room, the menu and the budget follow.
- Designing the invitation before you know the circle. If it reads like an open call, guests assume they can bring someone.
- Never saying out loud what intimate means to you two: twenty at a long table, or forty in a garden. The invitation has to pick one.
The design should not promise a bigger party
Guests open your invitation on a phone, in a car, in two seconds. Neon and glitter say club. If your evening is a long dinner with people still talking at midnight, the first image should be the table.
Templates work the same way. A layout built for three hundred guests looks empty with twenty-five chairs, and people notice the gap. A loud intro track sets a tone an acoustic dinner will not match. The mood starts before anyone arrives.

Your invitation is the first version of the evening. Make sure it is the same evening you are hosting.
What is not on the invitation gets asked on WhatsApp
Split the information and you invite the questions. Hour in one message, address in another, dress code mentioned at a family lunch: you get conflicting versions and three people asking again. Keep the hour, the place, the map and the dress code in one invitation, and spell out what elegant means. Dark suits, long dresses, or something else entirely. Pick something you can edit after sending, so a changed table does not mean a second file to open.
Confirmations should not be a chase
A notebook and fifteen individual messages is the part that wears people down. Put the RSVP inside the invitation: answers land in one ordered list, filled in from a phone, in the browser, with no app to install. Set only the questions you will actually use that week.
If you want paper for the few people who will keep it, print a handful of copies and send the link to everyone else. Eighty printed invitations for twenty-four guests means lost envelopes and calls asking whether it arrived.
Start free: you can edit the cover before paying anything, then unlock every scene when you publish. The invitation costs 29.99 EUR, one payment, no subscription. You share it as a link, a QR code or a message, and confirmations come back inside the same page.
