Harry Potter birthday invitations: the Marauder's Map

A Hogwarts-style invitation that unfolds scene by scene on a phone, so nobody loses the time or the address and every RSVP lands in one list.

It's Monday evening and you've typed the address into the group chat three times. Saturday, 4pm, 14 Alder Road. Someone still asks. Harry Potter birthday invitations fix this with one link that opens on a phone and keeps the answer in the same place.

It isn't a picture of a card. It's a small web page with scenes, photos and a confirm button. You edit the cover before you pay anything, so you know what your guests will see.

The cover does the first job: a photo with the wax seal, the birthday person's name and the date. In trial mode you edit that cover for free and see the result straight away. On Monday afternoon you paste the link into WhatsApp. It opens in the phone's browser, so nobody installs an app or creates an account. If your aunt would rather hold something, print the QR code on a few copies: one large for her, a handful for whoever keeps them.

  • A horizontal photo for the cover, plus the name, the date and a short line under it.
  • Send it as a link or a QR code. Guests answer from the phone they already have.
  • Up to six photos across the scenes, cover included, and the frames place them for you.
  • If somebody wants paper, a printed QR on a few copies is enough. Not forty.

Four scenes between the doorstep and the cake

Think of the invitation as a route to the cake. First the envelope that breaks open. Then the photo of the birthday person wearing the scarf of their house. Then the hour, the place and the map. Every scene takes your own text and photos, and you can swap a photo later without touching the rest.

The last scene is where the practical work happens. It can carry music and the closing line of the spell, and the confirm button sits underneath. That one tap puts a name on your list.

The invitation should answer the question before anyone has to ask it.

Names, hour and place before the typeface

Fill the fields one at a time: eyebrow line, names, date, phrase, place. A character counter warns you before a long name pushes the layout around, and the preview updates as you type. If the party moves from 6pm to 7.30pm, you change the hour and the same link shows the new version. Pick the palette before you lose an evening to fonts: burgundy and gold, green and silver, or blue and bronze. House colours carry the theme further than any script face.

Replies land inside the invitation, not in the chat

Confirmations arrive in a sorted list inside the invitation, so you see who is coming without scrolling through forty messages. The questions on the form are yours to set, which means you only ask for what you will actually use.

The site runs in seven languages and the invitation content can be set per language. Cousins abroad read it in theirs and you don't translate anything.

Nobody needs to install anything, but they do need a phone, a tablet or a computer with a connection. Choose a design, try it free and edit the cover before you pay: buying unlocks every scene for 29.99 EUR in a single payment. Publish the link and let the confirmations arrive inside the invitation. The sweets table and the cardboard wands are a separate job. The invitation only has to get the date, the hour and the address right.
