From a tee time that never makes it onto the invite to a rain plan nobody agrees on, here's how to get your golf bachelor party invitations right.

It's 7:15 on a Saturday morning. One of your group is already on the motorway because he read 'morning tee time' and assumed 8. Another is still in bed, convinced the golf starts after lunch. Your golf bachelor party invitations said nothing specific, and now you're fielding calls while trying to find the course's postcode.

Most of the last-minute drama comes down to five details that were never written down. Fix them before you send the link, and the day runs without you refereeing every message.

The tee time belongs on the cover, not in a separate message

If the first group tees off at 9:20, that time goes next to the date from day one. Saying 'in the morning' means one person leaves at 6:00 and another thinks it's after lunch. Put the exact time where everyone sees it first. When there are two slots, for example 9:20 and 9:40 for two groups of four, write it down: the second group doesn't need to get up as early, and the buggy allocation is clear. Put the course name and a map link in the same scene as the time, so nobody has to search for the location in an old screenshot.

  • Exact tee time next to the date. If there are two slots, say who plays when.
  • Course name, address and map link in the same scene as the time.
  • Add the postcode or a map link for sat nav. 'Somewhere near Guildford' isn't enough when three cars drive separately.
  • If you have two groups of four, list who's in each group so the buggies get sorted without an argument.

The course dress code isn't something you improvise

'Comfortable clothes' doesn't work. Many courses ban ripped jeans and collarless shirts. Write 'collared polo and closed-toe shoes' and you avoid an awkward conversation at the entrance.

Not everyone owns golf shoes or a polo. If you give two weeks' notice, those who don't play regularly can sort it without buying something weird the night before. Add what to wear afterwards: a shirt in the car or a change of shoes, so nobody has to drive home to change.

The rain plan is written before the first tee, not on the 7th hole

Decide and communicate in one sentence: if play is suspended, do you move to the clubhouse, play on, or reschedule? 'If there's thunder, we eat at 2pm anyway' stops people drifting off. If there's a dinner or lunch afterwards, make it clear that the table is still booked even if the golf is cancelled. That way nobody goes home thinking the whole day is off.

The invitation is the single source of truth. If it's not on the page, it doesn't exist.

Ask 'Are you playing golf or just coming for the meal?' and you know how many buggies and covers you need. Add 'Do you need rental clubs?' and set a deadline like 'confirm by 20 May'. The answers arrive in a neat list inside the invitation, so you stop counting messages in two WhatsApp groups. Send the link once. If the tee time changes to 10:00, the same link shows the new time. No re-sending, no screenshots. Tell guests to bookmark the link. It's the single source of truth. Create your invitation with the tee time, dress code and rain plan, and change anything without sending a single follow-up message.
