Gender Reveal Boat Invitations: Time, Seasickness, Food

A boat has a dock, a return time and somewhere to sit. Put those three on the invitation before anyone boards, along with the food, the shoes and the reveal moment.

Someone books the boat, someone else orders the cake, and the gender reveal boat invitations go out with a photo and a time. Then the morning arrives and the group chat fills with the same three questions: where exactly do we meet, what time are we back, and is there food?

A boat has three fixed facts: where it leaves from, when it comes back and where people sit. An invitation that answers those three before anyone steps aboard means nobody is texting you from the car park.

Gender reveal boat invitations should say how the boat moves

A wide catamaran and a small launch are two different mornings. If the boat rocks, write it down, and tell anyone who gets seasick to take their tablet an hour before boarding, not on the dock where it's already too late. Put the exact meeting point next to the time: Pier 4, gate B, by the blue crane. Twenty people at a dock scatter in two minutes. And spell out the shoes: flat, non-slip soles. Heels on a wet deck are a fall with a countdown.

  • Dock, pier number and boat name, with 20 minutes of margin before cast-off.
  • How much the boat moves, and when to take seasickness tablets.
  • The time you're back at the dock, and whether there's a plan on land afterwards.
  • Flat shoes, and no white if the confetti is going up.

The return time decides who can come

Write both times: boarding at 11:00, back at the dock at 16:30. The second one is the one that decides whether your sister can come after her shift, or whether the babysitter is booked for the right window.

If dinner on land follows, say so in the same invitation. Otherwise half the group asks on WhatsApp that morning and you answer the same message eleven times. When the skipper moves the time because of the tide, you edit the text and the link stays the same, so nobody gets a second invitation.

Food, dress code and where everyone stands

If there's catering, one line does it: snacks and cake at 13:00. If there isn't, say so plainly so people eat before they board. Name the drinks too, soft drinks and water included or a bar on board, and whether a small cool box is welcome.

Then say where and when the reveal happens: aft deck, 13:30, with the cake. On a boat half the group can't see the bow from the stern, and whoever films from the wrong end gets a reaction they can hear but not see. If the confetti is pink and blue, warn anyone in white before they climb aboard.

Why a digital invitation suits a boat

Tides move, weather turns, and the marina hands you a different gate number than the one you wrote down in March. With a digital invitation you fix the dock, the time or the cake in the browser editor, and everyone with the link sees the updated version. Same link, no reprints. You share it as a link or a QR code in the group chat instead of printing 30 cards that end up damp at the bottom of a bag.

Before you give the skipper the final number, make sure your invitation says all of the above and that the return time is on it. Start from a digital template, try it for free, and publish it once the times are settled.
