It's Thursday, the party is Saturday week, and you have a dinosaur cake ordered, a green tablecloth and a group chat with thirty parents in it. What you don't have yet is the invitation. That's the part a digital invitation fixes in one evening: you pick a design, type the details, drop in two photos and send a single link. Themed birthday invitations don't need a designer or a print run. They need the right template and about twenty minutes.

The order that works is theme first, words second, photos last. And you can try the cover for free before paying, so you find out whether the name and the theme line fit before you spend anything.

Choose the theme before you open the template

Write the theme as one short line: "dinosaurs in the garden", "neon in the front room", "football and burgers". That line goes on the cover and it decides everything else — colours, photos, what you tell people to wear. Get it down to a sentence and the rest of the invitation falls into place around it.

  • Keep the palette to two colours and one metal. Forest green, off-white and gold reads as a party; six colours read as a collage.
  • If you're using six photos, make three of them share the same light — same room, same afternoon, same window.
  • Plan the cover photo before you open the editor: a vertical shot of the birthday person with space above the head leaves room for the theme line without covering their face.
  • Put the dress code in under 100 characters. "Wellies and a raincoat" tells people more than "festive attire".

How to create digital invitations for a themed birthday

Every detail has its own field: theme line, name, date, one sentence and the venue. You type and the preview changes as you go, with no page reload, and a character counter stops you before the line runs off the cover. You can add up to six of your own photos — one cover and the rest decorative — and they frame themselves. Mark which one is the cover, and swap any photo later without rebuilding anything.

There's music too, and you choose the questions on the RSVP form: how many adults, how many children, whatever you actually need to know. Replies land inside the invitation in one ordered list instead of scattered across three chats and a notebook.

The theme is one line, two colours and one good photo. Everything after that is typing.

Try the cover for free, then unlock every scene

In trial mode you edit the cover without paying. If the birthday person's name doesn't fit next to the theme line, you find that out before you decide anything. When you buy, 29,99 EUR per invitation, one payment and no subscription, every scene of the invitation unlocks, not just the first one. The site runs in seven languages and the invitation content can be set per language, which matters when the grandparents read in another one.

The party moves from 17:00 to 18:30, or the venue changes, or you decide the dress code was a bad idea. Edit it and the link is identical — anyone who opens it sees the current version. Nothing to reprint, no second message to thirty people, no chasing replies by hand.

Open the editor, try the cover for free and send the link once the wording feels right. Later changes appear on the same link, so nobody has to be told twice. Pick a design from the collection and your theme is already half done.
