Three weeks before the baby shower and the group chat is already doing your job for you. One friend asks what time it starts, another asks whether she should bring a gift, and a third wants to know if your name goes on the card alone or with the baby's. A single mom baby shower doesn't need its own set of rules — it needs a digital invitation that answers all three questions before anyone has to ask. You can have one ready and sent today from the collection.

Most of the confusion comes from templates built for two parents: a line for the dad, a line for the couple, a line for a registry. When none of that applies, you don't fill the gaps with dashes. You reword it. Here's what to write instead.

The mom goes first: wording for a single mom baby shower

The headline names who you're celebrating and, if you already know, the baby too. "Lucía's baby shower" does the job. An invitation that never says whose shower it is leaves everyone guessing, and someone will end up asking in the chat. If a friend is hosting, her name comes after yours and smaller: "Hosted by Marta". If you're organizing your own, leave that line out — nobody writes "hosted by me".

  • The mom's name in the headline, spelled the way she spells it. No blank spaces left waiting for someone else.
  • The baby's name only if you're telling people. "Lucía and baby Sol" is a complete headline.
  • The host's name afterwards, in small type, and only if someone else is hosting.
  • One line that sounds like you: "Cake, gossip and a chair for everyone" beats anything generic.

Where, when and what to bring: the etiquette is in the details

An exact time saves you three separate conversations. "Saturday the 14th, 12:00" is enough. For the venue, add the reference that actually helps: "Marta's flat, blue door, second floor" spares a phone call to anyone who has never been there. "The usual place" only works for guests who already know it, and they're not the ones asking.

Then pick one gift line and stop there. "Bring something sweet" or "no gifts, just come". Both together sounds like a rule with a loophole, and people will spend the week working out which one you meant. If you truly want nothing, say it plainly: "Nothing for us. You being there is plenty."

If there's no partner, there's nothing to explain — an invitation isn't a form with gaps to fill.

A digital invitation changes without a reprint

A digital invitation is a web page, not a PDF or a picture. You share it with a link, a QR code or a message, and guests open it in their browser — nothing to install. Confirmations land inside the invitation in one ordered list, so you're not counting heads across three group chats. And if the time moves or the venue changes, you edit it and everyone sees the new version at the same link.

Photos and RSVP questions: keep both simple

You can add up to six photos of your own — the scan, the nursery, the cake your aunt makes every year — and mark one as the cover; they fit the frames on their own. The confirmation form is yours to set as well: ask "are you bringing someone?" if the answer changes your plan, and leave out anything you won't act on.

If you have the date, you can have the invitation finished tonight. Choose a design, type the names, the time and your own line in the browser, check it on your phone and share the link. If something changes next week, you edit it — the link stays exactly the same.
