Digital invitation price vs app: the real cost per guest

One digital invitation costs 29.99 EUR once. Apps often charge monthly or per guest. Here's how the real cost per guest works out before you decide.

You have the date, the venue, and 84 names in a spreadsheet. One tab quotes a monthly plan. Another quotes a plan that grows every time you add a guest. Neither shows the number you actually need: the digital invitation price per guest.

That number is a division. Total price, divided by your real list. Run it before you pay for anything, and the choice stops being a guess.

Digital invitation price vs app: check the unit first

Send The Joy charges 29.99 EUR for one invitation, once. No subscription, no per-guest rate. The link stays live until the last dance, and nothing reappears on your statement the following month.

  • Check the unit before you check the total: per event, per guest, per month, or per send.
  • If the charge is monthly, the meter starts on your first test and runs until the event day.
  • If the price grows with your list, ten late names change the number you agreed to.
  • A one-time payment is bought once. It doesn't come back next month.

Divide the price by your real guest list

How much does a digital invitation cost per guest? With 60 guests, 29.99 EUR works out at about 0.50 EUR each. With 120 guests, under 0.25 EUR each. That's simple division between the invitation price and your list, not an estimate from anybody else.

The same sum covers everyone: the one who opens the link on the bus, the one who replies at eleven at night, and the one who only looks at the cover photo. In a model that charges per guest, every new name has a price, so add up the full list — cousins, colleagues, children — before you choose.

One price for the whole list, not a price per name.

An invitation app nobody installs still costs you

When the invitation lives inside an app, your guest has to download it before seeing the time and place. The aunt who only uses her phone for WhatsApp gets stuck in the app store. Send The Joy works as its own web page: it opens from a link, a QR code, or a message, in any browser, with nothing to install. Every extra step before someone sees the details turns into another message asking the same question.

If the venue or the time changes, you edit that field and the same link shows the new version. No reprints, no round of individual messages. With paper, a change of time means printing again and handing out again. For twenty people who see each other every week, almost any format works; with guests in another city and a list that keeps growing, cost per guest and re-sends weigh a lot more. If someone wants paper, combine: a link for everyone and a few printed copies for whoever will keep one. And be honest about the rest. A digital invitation doesn't print or send paper, and it doesn't manage menus, allergies, or seating. If any of that is essential, budget for it separately.

Compare with your list in front of you and the cost per guest shows up in a minute. You can try a design free, personalise it in the browser, and pay only when the invitation already looks like your celebration.
