A birthday that lands on 31 December needs a digital invitation that separates dinner, the countdown and the after-party, so nobody has to guess the time. Here's how to set it up

Your birthday is on 31 December. You send one message — 'New Year's Eve, at ours, from nine' — and by 27 December there are four versions of the plan in four chats and someone is still asking whether dinner is included. A digital invitation puts all of it in one link. You pick a design from the catalogue, try the cover for free and send the same day.

Nothing about the date is the problem. It's the timetable. Dinner, midnight and the after-party are three different things at three different hours, and one line in a group chat cannot hold them. An invitation can.

How to build a digital invitation for a New Year's Eve birthday

Start with the hours. Write three, not one: dinner at 9pm, the countdown at midnight, the last dance from 1am. If you only write 'New Year's Eve', every guest turns up whenever it suits them. Then say who is doing what: who stays for dinner at your parents', who arrives just for the toast, who carries on afterwards. In the editor each piece has its own field — label, names, date, line and place. If someone is travelling in from another city, the venue and the map sit inside the same link, so you are not recording voice notes about where to park.

  • Three separate times: dinner at 9pm, the countdown at midnight, the last dance at 1am, each with its own place.
  • A dress code line people can actually follow: 'sparkle yes, heels no'.
  • The venue map, plus the last train or the nearest car park.
  • A cover photo from the year that's ending, and a name that reads clearly on a phone.

Digital invitations fix exactly what gets muddled that night

What you're sending is its own web page, not a PDF or an image. Your guest opens the link in a browser, installs nothing, and moves through linked scenes — 'Long dinner', 'The toast', 'Last dance'. Confirmations arrive inside the same invitation as an ordered list, so you know how many are coming to dinner without chasing replies on WhatsApp. You can set your own RSVP questions and write the deadline into the dinner scene.

Edit after you send and the link stays the same: change the time, the venue, the map, the dress code or the cover line, and guests see the updated version. No paper to reprint, no second round of envelopes. If someone in the family wants a keepsake, combine the two — a link for everyone and a few printed copies for whoever will actually keep them.

Three times, one link: dinner, the countdown and the after-party stay in the same place, and you can change any of them after you've sent it.

Up to six photos and the song for the toast

You can upload six of your own photos, a cover plus decorative ones, and they frame themselves. One from last year's birthday, one of the summer group, one from the 2024 toast. If the cover you chose comes out blurred, swap it — the link you already sent doesn't change. Add background music and the invitation opens with the song that will play at the toast.

Change the time at 11pm without resending anything

If the restaurant moves dinner back half an hour while you're already out, you fix it in the editor and that's the end of it — no update message, no corrections in three chats. Pick a design, try the cover for free and publish before 31 December. At 29.99 EUR, paid once with no subscription, you have a link you can send on WhatsApp the same day.
