Digital Invitation for a Halloween Mummy Party on WhatsApp

A digital invitation puts the mummy party in one link the class group can't bury: date, time, gate, RSVP inside, and you can change the hour after you send it

It's nine on a Tuesday. Four white sheets are drying over the kitchen door, three pumpkins are lined up on the step, and the class group has been talking about packed lunches since you asked who's free on Saturday. Setting up the mummy party is the easy part. Getting the details seen is the work. A digital invitation does that in one link, and you can pick a design from the catalogue and have it in the group tonight.

Nobody installs anything. Guests tap the link, see the carved pumpkin on the cover with the date, time and gate underneath, and tap to confirm from their phone. The answers land in one ordered list inside the invitation, instead of twenty messages you have to count up by hand.

The digital invitation that survives the class WhatsApp group

With parents, whatever isn't pinned is gone by bedtime. So don't send a file half of them won't open. Send three short lines and pin that message to the top of the group. Then personalise the cover so nobody mistakes your link for another sticker chain: the birthday child's name and a line everyone in that class will recognise.

  • One three-line message: 'Saturday 31, 5:30pm, our back garden. Invitation here: [link]'. Nothing else in that text.
  • That message pinned at the top of the class group, above the homework questions.
  • A cover that says whose party it is: 'Mummies at 5:30' next to the photo of the carved pumpkin.
  • The door written plainly, 'green gate, second door on the left', so nobody rings the wrong bell.

How to set up a mummy party in a garden for kids aged 6 to 10

Three stations stop eight or ten children from bunching into one corner: the cobwebbed doorway, the pumpkin table, and the bandage corner where the wrapping happens. Lanterns and LED candles along the path, low to the ground, nothing with a real fright in it. A mummy who keeps dropping its own bandages is funnier than anything that screams.

Put one concrete ask in the invitation, 'bring a white bandage'. It starts the game without turning the afternoon into a costume contest. Write the pick-up time next to the start time so nobody asks twice. And Halloween digital invitations have one advantage over a card on the fridge: if it rains, you change the hour and the same link shows the new one.

The invitation isn't the decoration. It's the one message that doesn't get lost when the group moves on.

What to write in a mummy invitation, and what to leave out

A label such as 'Mummies at 5:30', the child's name, the date, one line that sounds like your family, and the place. One field per item, with a character counter so the line doesn't get chopped on a phone. Up to six of your own photos, framed automatically: the pumpkin on the cover, two from last year inside. Music, and confirmation questions you write yourself. Anything you'd normally chase, like allergies, siblings or lift-sharing, goes in a note in your own words or in a question you add to the RSVP. Try the cover free, choose the design, publish, and drop the link in the group before the chat goes back to packed lunches.
