Halloween Digital Invitation: What to Write on WhatsApp
Digital invitation: Three lines at noon: the patio time, the gate number and one link to your digital invitation, with the map and the replies inside. No voice notes, no chasing anyone

It's Saturday, 12:00. There are cobwebs on the porch railing, three bags of sweets you've already opened, and two messages in the family group asking what time this starts. You haven't sent anything yet. A digital invitation gets you out of that hole before lunch: pick a design from the catalogue, add your own texts and photos, hit publish and share the link.
The wording isn't the hard part. What's hard is that your message has to carry the time, the gate and one link, and nothing else. And that the people reading it can say yes without you replying to each one privately.
What to write in a WhatsApp message with your Halloween invitation
Three lines, sent as one block. People read on a phone, one hand, while somebody else is hollowing out a pumpkin. Leave out 'I'll send more details later': that sentence is exactly what makes the whole thing look improvised.
- Line one, the time with real slack: 'We open the patio at 20:30, the pumpkins go on at 21:00.' Two different times stop everyone landing at once in a narrow gateway.
- Line two, the address that actually works: street, gate number, flat, or 'the house at the back, green gate'. If the patio has its own entrance, say so: 'come in through the garage door, not the front door.'
- Line three, the link. Not three voice notes repeating the same thing: one link with the time, the map and the confirm button inside.
- A closing line with a bit of humour: 'bring a jacket, park on the street, and if it rains the pumpkins move into the living room.'
Send the digital invitation in the first message, not the sixth
With a link, guests open the page in their phone browser, install nothing and confirm from there. That ends the 'yeah, I think I can make it' replies: the answers arrive inside the invitation, in one ordered list, instead of you chasing people one by one.
If the cake is behind schedule on Saturday morning, you edit the time and the link stays the same. Nobody has to scroll back through the family group looking for a correction. WhatsApp can't hold the map, a photo of the decorated patio or the dress code. The invitation can, and the message only has to be the front door.

The WhatsApp message is the door. The invitation is what people walk into.
A Halloween party in the garden: what to tell your guests
Describe the walk in and the view, not the coordinates: 'cobwebs on the porch, lanterns all the way to the long table.' That sentence answers more questions than a postcode. Add the plan B without drama: 'if it starts raining, the pumpkins move into the living room, same time, same link' — because it's on the invitation, everyone sees the change without another message. Keep the tone funny rather than frightening. For kids, mystery is a bell that rings once at eleven, a cauldron of sweets on the back table and a shed door that creaks for no reason. No blood, no jump scares: the grandparents read this too. If you want people to picture the place, upload a photo of the patio with the pumpkins lit — you can add up to six of your own and choose which one leads.
How much do digital invitations cost for a family Halloween party?
One payment of 29,99 EUR per invitation, no subscription. You personalise it in the browser, one field per detail — title, names, date, phrase, place — with a character counter so nothing spills over the edge. Then you publish with a button and share it by link, QR code or message. Digital invitations are fully digital: no printing, no post. If your aunt wants paper, the sensible move is a mix — the link for everyone and a few printed copies for whoever keeps them. Guests only need a phone, a tablet or a computer with a connection.
Copy the three lines, put the link in and your Saturday message stops looking improvised. A digital invitation keeps the time, the map and the confirmations in one place; you only send the door.
