Somebody in the office thread asks what to wear. Two people answer at once, one suggests a full costume, another says they are not doing that, and the restaurant wants numbers by Thursday. Halloween office dinner etiquette is really three decisions — what to wear, when to arrive and when to reply — and they belong in one place. Choose a design in the catalogue, add your own texts and send the digital invitation today.

None of that needs forty replies in a chat. A digital invitation is a page with its own link: it holds the dress code, the time and the address, and every guest opens the same version. No app to install, no PDF to scroll through, no screenshot of a screenshot.

Write the dress code before anyone picks a costume

Choose one of three formulas and copy it into the invitation text word for word: no dress code, costume optional, or black with one orange detail. The exact wording matters. "Come as you like" reads as tracksuit to one colleague and jacket and tie to another, and you find out at the door. Written once and copied everywhere, nobody can quote you saying something else.

  • No dress code, written out: "No dress code — come as you would to dinner on a Friday."
  • Costume optional, with the limit on the same line: "Costume if you feel like it; no masks at the table" — worth adding when directors or clients are in the room.
  • A Halloween detail that comes off easily: a pumpkin brooch, spider earrings, an orange tie. Easy to wear through dinner, easy to drop in a coat pocket.
  • Black with one orange detail is the safe middle: it looks like a plan without asking anyone to buy anything.

Halloween office dinner etiquette: the time on one line

Put the exact sentence under the restaurant name: "Starts at 21:00, seated dinner." Not buried in the confirmation form, not in a caption under a photo. If there is an aperitif first, split the two times — "20:30 drinks at the bar, 21:00 seated dinner" — so nobody arrives at nine expecting to order straight away and nobody stands alone at the bar wondering if they got the day wrong. If you want one Halloween line in the whole invitation, make it that one: "The restaurant door creaks open at 21:00."

Add the address and the map in the place field, so nobody has to follow the voice note that says "turn left after the church". Guests open the link in a browser on a phone, tablet or laptop and answer from there; nothing to install, and the colleague with the ancient phone can still reply. Write the deadline in the invitation text too: "Confirm by 24 October." Nothing sends a reminder for you, so the date is the reminder.

Settle the dress code and the time in the link, and the group chat goes back to being a group chat.

How to send a digital invitation that ends the thread

Set two RSVP questions: "Are you joining dinner?" and "Any Halloween detail you are wearing?" Answers arrive in a list inside the invitation, in order, so you are not counting thumbs-up icons or chasing anyone at their desk. If the restaurant moves you to the back room or the time slips to 21:30, edit the invitation: the link stays the same and guests see the updated version without a single re-send. Digital invitations cost 29.99 EUR, paid once, with no subscription. Choose a design, write those three lines, and send it before the thread starts again.
