Digital invitation: Halloween address in a country house

Three days before Halloween, someone in the family chat asks where the party actually is. You type 'Casa El Roble, Brihuega' and get a question mark back. Then a voice note. Then a screenshot of a screenshot. Then a pin dropped half a kilometre from the gate. The problem was never the address — it's the chat, which can't hold a map, a house name and the time of the last bus in one place. A digital invitation can. You can put one together today from the catalogue, try it free and send the link before the pumpkins start to sag.

So this isn't about decorating a message. It's about the three things a country house always needs and a group chat always loses: where it is, what happens in the last 200 metres, and when the last bus leaves. Here's where each piece goes on a Halloween digital invitation.

Where the map goes in a Halloween digital invitation

Two fields, not a paragraph. The place field takes the name of the house and the town — 'Casa El Roble, Brihuega' — because that's the bit a guest copies into their maps app. The Google Maps pin goes on the map of the invitation, where people actually look for it. What's left is the stretch no GPS can follow, and that gets one short sentence, not four lines.

  • House name and town in the place field: 'Casa El Roble, Brihuega'. That's the bit a phone can use.
  • The Google Maps pin on the invitation's map, not buried in the middle of a text block.
  • One sentence for the last stretch: 'the final 200 metres are a dirt track, green gate on the left'.
  • Road repaired or gate moved? Edit the link; everyone who opens the invitation sees the new version.

The last bus moves. Digital invitations don't need resending.

You publish on Tuesday with the bus at 11:30 pm. On Friday afternoon the house calls: it leaves at midnight and the driver won't wait. You open the editor, change one number, save. Same link. Nobody scrolls back through three days of chat to find Tuesday's version, because the invitation saved on their phone now says midnight.

Same move for the map, the dress code or the line on the cover. A friend asks whether the costume is compulsory: you add a sentence and it's done. No reprints, no second round of envelopes, no 'sorry, correction' message that half the guests never read.

How to write the address on a digital invitation

Write it the way you'd say it to a taxi driver: 'Carretera de la vega, km 4, next to the bridge'. If you need three turns and two landmarks to explain it, that isn't an address, it's directions — and directions belong in that one short sentence about the last stretch. Keep the cover clean and give people something they'll actually remember: 'the house with the pumpkin on the gate' beats a plot number every time. The confirmations arrive in a list inside the same invitation, so you know how many chairs to carry out to the patio without counting replies in a chat; you set the questions yourself, whether that's 'how many of you are coming?' or 'are you staying over?'. One payment of 29,99 EUR per invitation, up to six of your own photos, and nobody installs an app. If a cousin still wants paper, print a few copies for the people who keep things — and send the link to everyone else.
