Carved smiling pumpkins, a candle and bat garland in a hallway: digital invitation cover for a kids' Halloween party

Nine o'clock on a Thursday and your phone keeps lighting up. What time is pick-up? Do they need a costume? Your house or your mum's? You put all of it in one message three days ago and it is now buried under forty others. Most Halloween birthday invitation templates give you a pretty frame and nowhere to put the one detail everyone asks about. This is different: a digital invitation is a page of its own with the four fields that matter, and you can pick a design from the catalogue, fill it in and send the link today. No printing, no re-sending.

Here is what goes on it for a party at home with six- to ten-year-olds, in the order you'll type it. Short lines, one clear time to arrive and one to leave. It's the same order that makes most digital invitations readable at a glance.

Halloween birthday invitation templates: four fields you can't skip

Leave these out and you'll spend the week replying one message at a time. Put them in and the invitation answers for you.

  • The birthday child's name in full and the age in digits: 'Julia turns 7', not 'Juli'. That's the detail parents look for when the link has been sitting in the school chat since Monday.
  • The date with the weekday spelled out, plus the start time: 'Saturday 31 October, 5:30pm'. Anyone with two parties in one afternoon will thank you.
  • Pick-up time in its own field, not a footnote: 'pick-up at 7pm, front door'. With a start time and nothing else, someone stays until nine.
  • The place in the words people actually use: 'our house, third door with the pumpkins'. A map link beats the name of the estate every time.

The costume line, in one sentence

Write the costume as an option, not an order: 'come with a cape, antennae or a witch's hat if you feel like it'. With six- to ten-year-olds, optional gets done more often than compulsory. Then set the tone in the same breath — 'funny-scary, no real frights' — which is the line that settles the parent still wondering whether their six-year-old will cry on the doorstep.

Leave a way out for anyone without an outfit: 'no costume, you still get in'. Nobody should sit out a Tuesday because there's nothing in the dressing-up box. If you need to know who's staying for tea, write that as a question on the RSVP form. You choose the questions, so ask for a plain yes or no instead of guessing from silence.

A Halloween invitation has three jobs: what time to drop off, what time to pick up, and whether a costume is expected.

Send The Joy

If the tea slides to five or pick-up moves to half seven, you edit the invitation and the link stays the same. Nobody re-forwards anything, and nobody acts on an old screenshot. Replies land in one ordered list inside the invitation, and guests open it in their phone browser with no app to install. One payment of 29.99 EUR, no subscription. So before the door creaks and the pumpkins go out: choose the design, fill in the four fields, add your costume line and hit publish.
