Late September, and the christening is three weeks away. You have a photo of the baby asleep under a mustard blanket, a list of forty names, and no idea where to start. So you open a template site, pick something with pumpkins on it, and it looks like a different family's party.

The problem isn't the template. It's doing the colours, the photos and the replies in the wrong order. Autumn 2026 christening invitations are being built the other way round: decide the palette, choose two real photos, set up the RSVP, and let the wording follow.

Autumn 2026 christening invitations: colour first, type later

Colour is the first decision and the easiest one to get wrong. Terracotta, mustard, olive green and burgundy are the four tones running through autumn 2026, and they hold up on a phone screen because they're warm without being loud. Set the background of the invitation in one of them and repeat it on the table — candles, napkins, the ribbon on the cake. If the room and the link share a colour, the day feels like one thing instead of two.

  • Palette: terracotta, mustard, olive green and burgundy. Pick two of the four and stop there.
  • Leaves as a frame around the cover photo, or as a soft texture behind the welcome scene. Not as a sticker in the corner.
  • One real photo with a knit blanket in it — grandparents, baby, a sofa by a window — beats any drawing of pumpkins.
  • A single colour on the table that matches the invitation background, so the room and the screen look like the same day.

Three details guests notice without being told

The welcome line does a lot of work in October. Something like "We're wrapping [name] up warm — come and help" says more than "You are cordially invited". Add a soft piano track so the invitation has a sound while people scroll through it. And put the dress code in plain words: "a touch of autumn colour" gets a better result than "formal".

The RSVP that doesn't get lost

In 2026 the reply lives inside the invitation itself. Guests open the link in any browser, confirm from their phone, and don't install anything. You decide what the form asks — whether they're coming, whether they're staying for the meal, whatever you actually need to know.

Answers arrive in one ordered list. No hunting through group chats, no replies spread across three threads, no "did you see my text?". You open the invitation and the list is there.

Get the colour, the leaves and the reply right, and the rest of the christening gets easier.

Scenes that tell the day, photo by photo

An invitation built in scenes takes guests from the welcome through to the last dance, one step at a time. You can use up to six of your own photos, mark one as the cover and swap any of them later. Change the time, the place or the dress code and the link stays the same — nothing to resend, nothing to reprint. It costs €29.99 once, with no subscription, and the invitation can be edited in seven languages, Italian included, if you have guests coming from elsewhere. If an aunt wants paper in her hands, print one copy for her and send the link to everyone else. Build yours at Send The Joy.
