Baby shower invitations with kids: what to write

If older siblings are coming, the invitation has to answer two things: where they play and what time they eat. Here's how to say it in two lines.

If older siblings are coming, the invitation has to answer two things: where they play and what time they eat. Here's how to say it in two lines.

The date is set, the room is booked, and the first message arrives: 'Can we bring the kids?' Then a second from someone else asking the same thing. Then a third, from a friend who wants to know what time the little ones eat. Baby shower invitations with kids carry more questions than the ones without, and most of them land in your phone at the last minute.

None of that means your party is complicated. It means the invitation hasn't answered yet. Two things — where the children play and when they eat — and the questions stop coming.

What baby shower invitations with kids need to say

Start with the play zone and be specific: the side room, the garden, a corner with blankets and cushions. That one line decides it for a parent in about five seconds. They stop working out whether a four-year-old will spend the whole afternoon being moved away from the cake table. If the party is adults only, write that in the same place, just as plainly: 'adults-only celebration'. It saves you the message that arrives at eleven the night before.

  • Where they play: a separate room, the garden, or a corner with blankets and cushions.
  • A rough age range — 'from 3 and up' — so nobody turns up expecting a crib or a high chair.
  • The activity they can picture: face painting, a playdough table, balloons.
  • What to bring: a change of clothes, a hat, swimming things if there's a pool.

Snack time goes on the invitation, not in the group chat

Give the snack a time and split the table into two lines. Kids' snack at 5pm, cake at 6.30. Juice and small plates on one side, cake and coffee on the other. Without a time written down, every family asks you the same question on the same afternoon, and you answer it seven times.

Keep the schedule next to the address and the map, so nobody scrolls between two messages to work out when to feed their child. And say who's watching the children during the toast and the photos: the little ones stay with their own families. One line. It saves a conversation you don't want to have mid-celebration.

Baby shower invitations with kids don't need more words. They need the two answers every parent is going to ask for anyway.

Rain moves the play zone from the garden into the living room. The snack slides from 5pm to 6pm. You open the editor, change the scene, and every guest sees the new version through the same link or the same QR code they already saved on their phone. Nothing to reprint, nothing to resend, no second message explaining the first. Confirmations arrive in a list inside the invitation, so you're not counting heads by message the day before. Pick a design, try it free in the browser, personalise the play zone and snack lines, and publish it for €29.99 as a one-time payment.
