Aquarium birthday invitations: sharks that don't bite

A shark, a time and one link that lands in the WhatsApp group: how to build an aquarium birthday invitation parents read in ten seconds.

A shark, a time and one link that lands in the WhatsApp group: how to build an aquarium birthday invitation parents read in ten seconds.

It's nine at night, the class WhatsApp group already has three copies of the same PDF, and one parent is still asking whether the party starts at eleven or half past. The child only cares about one thing: that the shark on the invitation is big and clearly a shark.

Aquarium birthday invitations are decided on the cover: one animal, one time, one link. Everything else — the meeting point, the dress code, the RSVP — only has to be easy to find when a parent opens it one-handed in the kitchen.

Aquarium birthday invitations: the deep blue comes before the shark

Choose two colours and stop there: a deep blue background and one light accent — sand, coral or fish yellow — for the date and the time. If every element is blue, the time disappears into the water. Before you pick a font, picture the first screen of a phone. If a big shark sits there, the birthday child's name needs more size and more contrast than the animal. The theme gets decided right there: favourite fish at the top, name underneath, not the other way round.

  • Deep blue background, one light accent for the date and the time.
  • Big shark on the cover? Then the birthday name has to be bigger and brighter.
  • Photo of the child's favourite fish at the top, name underneath.
  • Check the first screen on a phone, not on a laptop.

Sharks, jellyfish and clownfish: cast the poster

One lead character. If the birthday child wants a shark, a jellyfish and a clownfish at once, give each one a job: shark on the cover, jellyfish in the decorative photos, clownfish next to the map.

Photos from your last aquarium visit work better than drawings. You can upload up to six of your own, they frame themselves, you mark which one is the cover, and you can swap any of them afterwards. For a six-year-old you don't need cartoon illustration: a dark water background with a photo of the child looking into the tank convinces the parents more than it convinces the kids.

One animal on the cover, one time nobody has to ask about, one link that opens on any phone.

The details a parent looks for in ten seconds

Date, start time and pickup time. If the plan is the Aquàrium in Barcelona, at Port Vell, parents want to read the exact time the kids are collected at the entrance. The meeting point has to be a place, not a category: the door where the group forms, with a map for anyone who doesn't know the area. Then what to bring — a change of clothes if there's a water workshop — and a dress code a six-year-old can follow at home: navy blue and something with a shark.

In the parents' group, send a link and a QR code instead of forwarding the PDF three times. Each family opens it in the browser on their phone, with nothing to install. Confirmations arrive inside the invitation in one ordered list, and you set the questions yourself: name, number of guests, a message. No more 'are you coming or not?' at eleven at night — who has already answered is visible at a glance. If the aquarium moves the guided tour to another slot, you edit the time and the link stays the same, same as the venue, the map, the dress code or a line of text. Nobody gets a second version.

If you already have the animal, the blue and the time, the only thing left is the cover. Build the aquarium birthday invitation, try it for free and publish it once the name and the shark sit right.
